This journey has left me asking myself, what if I didn’t have the hope that I do. Hope in Jesus Christ, support in my community, endless encouragement.

And then I ask myself. What would my heart like to see happen after this season of my life has passed? Do I tip my hat at God and say thanks for getting me through it, and just move on. My heart desires more.

The Rashel Foundation is a local resource for the Birmingham community that provides tangible help to those going through the difficult season of cancer.

Some come to chemo alone; I can’t be okay with that. Some have no one to talk to; I can’t be okay with that.  Some have no one to send them notes of encouragement, no one to clean their home or make them a meal. I can’t be okay with any of those things.

I believe that the love of Jesus Christ can be shown through my actions and the actions of my community.

I can drive someone to chemo and sit with them. I can clean their home. I can make a meal for them. I can send notes of encouragement. I can buy them a hat to wear on their head when they lose their hair. I can support them through what could be the hardest journey of their life.

My desire is that God would be glorified through my actions and the actions of those involved in The Rashel Foundation.

This is the beginning of a dream, a dream that came from a rough season in my own life, but I have no doubt God will use to bring glory and honor to him, and I would like to be part of that!
